For our new startup project, African Fashion Fusion (AFF), which is at the forefront of dramatically altering African fashion on the global stage, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design:We are seeking a proactive Fashion Design Executive Assistant to enhance our operational efficiency and support our CEO in driving strategic initiatives for our startup, African Fashion Fusion.


Role Description


The Fashion Design Executive Assistant at African Fashion Fusion (AFF) requires excellent organisational skills (EA skills), cultural communication, and knowledge of African fabrics and modern trends. They lead strategic efforts, maintain relationships with designers and suppliers, and collaborate with technical teams. The ideal candidate should adapt to new situations, be comfortable with online platforms, and promote African fashion.

Key Responsibilities


Strategic Support


  • Managing the CEO's involvement in product development milestones
  • Preparing materials for investor meetings and fundraising activities
  • Coordinating with textile specialists and tailor network managers
  • Executive Administrative Assistance skills


Relationship Management


  • Building and maintaining relationships with key fashion influencers
  • Coordinating engagement with textile suppliers across Africa
  • Managing communication with the tailor network


Operations Coordination


  • Ensuring seamless information flow between technical and creative teams
  • Helping track KPIs across the platform development process
  • Managing logistics for physical store launches and pop-up showcases


Communications Management


  • - Creating communications that effectively convey AFF's unique value proposition
  • - Developing presentations that showcase African textiles and craftsmanship
  • - Monitoring and filtering communications to prioritise the CEO's attention


Ideal Background [Experience]


  • - 3+ years in an executive support role, preferably in fashion or technology
  • - Previous involvement with start-ups or scale-ups
  • - Experience with marketplace or e-commerce businesses


Education/Knowledge


  • Degree in Fashion Design/Management, Business Administration, technology or a related field
  • Understanding of African cultural contexts and textile traditions
  • Knowledge of fashion tech innovations and digital transformation

This Executive Assistant would be a key partner for the CEO in running the company. They would help the CEO deal with the challenges of establishing a fashion technology platform while keeping the cultural qualities that make AFF distinct. As the company grows, their function could change and they could become the Chief of Staff.

    - Responsible for sourcing authentic fabrics and building supplier relationships

    - Skills: Deep knowledge of African textiles, supply chain management, quality control
